How to read a StoryRoom story on a Barnes & Noble NOOK
To read a StoryRoom story on a Barnes & Noble NOOK, download it as an EPUB with WP Downloader and copy the file to your NOOK over USB. Barnes & Noble calls this “sideloading.” Once copied, the story is available to read offline.

- The StoryRoom story link
- An account on StoryRoom or FineStories
- A Barnes & Noble NOOK
- A USB cable
- A computer
WP Downloader is a free web tool, so you do not need to install anything. StoryRoom stories are in English. WPD downloads the whole story, not individual chapters or lists.

Open the StoryRoom downloader and paste the story link into the box. You can also paste it on the WP Downloader home page, which will detect that the link is from StoryRoom.
You must sign in with an account on the story site. WP Downloader uses your account credentials only to fetch the story you requested and can download only what your account can already read. It does not bypass locked chapters, paywalls, or age restrictions.
Choose EPUB as the output format. EPUB is free for everyone and works with the NOOK. WP Downloader does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files.
To keep the story’s artwork, select the option to include images. Download the completed EPUB to your computer.

Step 2: Connect your NOOK to the computer
Connect your NOOK GlowLight to the computer with a USB cable. It should appear as a drive called “NOOK.”
On newer NOOK models, select the file-transfer USB setting:
- Swipe down from the top of the NOOK screen.
- Tap “USB for charging.”
- Choose “Transfer files (MTP).”
Step 3: Copy the EPUB to your NOOK
Find the StoryRoom EPUB on your computer. Open the NOOK drive and drag the EPUB onto it.
After the file has finished copying, eject the NOOK from the computer before unplugging the cable.
Step 4: Read the StoryRoom story
Disconnect the NOOK and open the transferred EPUB. The story is stored on the device and can be read offline.
If the author adds more chapters, WP Downloader will not update the EPUB already on your NOOK. Download the story again and copy the new EPUB to the device.
