Read Sufficient Velocity Stories on a Flight

Download the Sufficient Velocity story before you leave, save it to the device you are taking, and check that it opens in airplane mode. Once the EPUB or PDF is on your device, you can read it without Wi-Fi.

Download the story before your flight

While you have an internet connection, open the Sufficient Velocity downloader and paste the story’s thread URL into the box. Sufficient Velocity story links use this format:

Sufficient Velocity stories are forum threads. WP Downloader collects the threadmarked chapters into one book and downloads the whole story. It does not download individual chapters or lists.

You can download public stories without signing in. For members-only stories, sign in with your Sufficient Velocity account so WP Downloader can access the stories your account can read. Your credentials are used only to fetch the story you requested. WP Downloader does not bypass paywalls, locked chapters, or age restrictions.

Save the book to your device

Before leaving, make sure the EPUB or PDF is stored on the phone, tablet, e-reader, or laptop you will have on the plane.

Phone or tablet

Open an EPUB in an EPUB reader app or a PDF in a PDF reader. Open the file once before your flight to confirm that the download finished and your reading app can load it.

If you use the Kindle app, send the EPUB or PDF through Amazon’s Send to Kindle service before leaving. Amazon converts the EPUB and adds the book to your Kindle library.

Kindle e-reader or Kindle app

Amazon’s Send to Kindle accepts EPUB and PDF files. You can deliver the book by emailing it to your Kindle’s Send-to-Kindle address, using the Send to Kindle app, or using Send to Kindle on the web.

Delivery requires an internet connection, so send the book before your flight. Open your Kindle library afterward and confirm that the book is available on the Kindle e-reader or in the Kindle app you plan to use.

When sending a file by email, use an address on your approved sender list. Send to Kindle no longer accepts MOBI files. WP Downloader provides EPUB and PDF files, not MOBI files.

Kobo

Download the story as an EPUB and move it to your Kobo before leaving. Open the book on the Kobo to make sure it is ready. See the Sufficient Velocity Kobo guide for the device steps.

Laptop

Save the EPUB or PDF on the laptop itself and open it with a compatible reading app. A browser tab or online copy may stop working once you lose your connection.

Test the book in airplane mode

Check the book before you leave:

1. Finish downloading or sending the book.
2. Open it in the app or on the e-reader you will use.
3. Turn on airplane mode.
4. Close and reopen the book.
5. Open a few chapters to confirm that the whole story is available offline.

If the book does not open, turn off airplane mode and download or transfer it again while you still have internet. WP Downloader does not add new chapters to an existing EPUB. For an ongoing story, download it again before your trip to get a new copy with the available chapters.

Can I read the downloaded story without Wi-Fi?

Yes. Once the EPUB or PDF is stored on your device and opens in your reading app, you can read it without an internet connection.

Should I choose EPUB or PDF for a flight?

Choose EPUB for an EPUB reader, Kobo, or Send to Kindle. Choose PDF if you prefer a PDF reader. EPUB is free for everyone, while PDF requires a free Discord sign-in.

Can I download only one Sufficient Velocity chapter?
