How to Read Syosetu Stories on a Barnes & Noble NOOK

To read a Shousetsuka ni Narou story on a Barnes & Noble NOOK, download the whole story as an EPUB with WP Downloader and copy the file to your NOOK over USB. WP Downloader is a free web tool, so there is nothing to install. Syosetu stories do not require an account.

Shousetsuka ni Narou stories are written in Japanese. Their links may use ncode.syosetu.com or novel18.syosetu.com. A story URL looks like this:

Copy the main story URL. WP Downloader downloads whole Syosetu stories, so it does not accept individual chapters or lists for this site.

Step 1: Download the Syosetu story as an EPUB

Open the Syosetu downloader in your browser.

1. Copy the Shousetsuka ni Narou story link.
2. Paste it into the box in WP Downloader.
3. Choose whether to include the story’s images.
4. Download the EPUB.

2. Tap “USB for charging.”
3. Choose “Transfer files (MTP).”

The device should appear on the computer as a drive named “NOOK.”

Step 3: Copy the EPUB to your NOOK

Find the downloaded EPUB on your computer. Open the NOOK drive and drag the EPUB onto it.

Barnes & Noble calls this process sideloading. It means copying your own book file to the device instead of downloading it from the Barnes & Noble store.

Wait for the transfer to finish, then eject the NOOK from your computer before unplugging the cable. The Syosetu story will now be available to read offline on the device.

Downloading new chapters later

WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you already have. After the author publishes more chapters, paste the story link into WP Downloader again and download a new EPUB of the whole story.

Connect the NOOK and copy the new file to it using the same steps.
