How to Read Walking the Plank Stories During a Flight

Download your Walking the Plank story before leaving, open it in your reading app, and check it with airplane mode turned on. Once the EPUB or PDF is stored on your device, it will open without an internet connection.

Download the story before your flight

WP Downloader is a free web tool, and you do not need to install anything. While you still have an internet connection:

1. Open the Walking the Plank downloader.
2. Copy the Walking the Plank story URL from your browser. It should look like this:

3. Paste the link into WP Downloader.
4. Choose EPUB or PDF.
5. Choose whether to include the story’s images.
6. Download the file to the device you will take on the flight.

You do not need a Walking the Plank account. WP Downloader downloads the whole story, not a single chapter or a list of stories.

EPUB is free for everyone. Downloading a PDF requires a free Discord sign-in. WP Downloader does not produce MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files.

Choose your device and reading app

Decide where you will read before the flight so that you have time to move the file and make sure it opens.

Phone or tablet

Download the story to your phone or tablet, or move the file there before you leave. Use an EPUB-compatible reading app for an EPUB or a PDF reader for a PDF.

Open the book instead of relying on its appearance in your downloads list. Move through part of the story to check that the reading app can access the file.

Laptop

Save the EPUB or PDF somewhere you can reach without visiting a website or opening an online storage service. You will also need an app that supports the format you chose.

Open the local file before leaving to confirm that the download finished and your app can read it.

Kindle e-reader or Kindle app

Choose EPUB or PDF in WP Downloader, then deliver the file with Amazon’s Send to Kindle service. Amazon accepts EPUB and PDF files by email, through the Send to Kindle app, or on the Send to Kindle website. It converts EPUB files and adds the books to your Kindle library, where they can appear on Kindle e-readers and in the Kindle app.

Send to Kindle needs an internet connection. Send the book and download it to your Kindle device or app before your flight. When sending it by email, use an address on your approved sender list.

Kobo

Download the story as an EPUB before you travel. The Walking the Plank Kobo guide explains how to prepare it for your Kobo device or app.

Open the book while you still have an internet connection, then check it offline.

Test the story in airplane mode

Check the book offline before you leave:

1. Finish downloading, transferring, or delivering the story.
2. Open it in your chosen app or device.
3. Turn on airplane mode.
4. Close and reopen the book.
5. Move between a few parts of the story to confirm that the full file is available.

If the book does not open, turn off airplane mode and download, transfer, or deliver it again. WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an existing EPUB. If the story gains new chapters, download the whole story again.

Preflight checklist

Before leaving, check that:

• You downloaded the whole Walking the Plank story.
• The EPUB or PDF is stored on the device you are taking.
• Your reading app opens the chosen format.
