Read Whofic Stories in KOReader

To read a story from A Teaspoon And An Open Mind, also known as Whofic, in KOReader, download it as an EPUB with WP Downloader and copy the file to your device. You can then open it from KOReader’s file browser and read it offline.

What you need

You will need:

• Access to WP Downloader’s Whofic downloader
• A device running KOReader
• A way to copy the downloaded file to that device

You do not need a Whofic account. WP Downloader handles whole stories from this archive, so copy the URL of the main story page instead of an individual chapter.

Download the Whofic story

WP Downloader is a free web tool, and you do not need to install anything.

1. Find the story on whofic.com.
2. Copy its URL from your browser’s address bar.
3. Open the Whofic Downloader.
4. Paste the story link into the box.
5. Choose whether to include the story’s images.
6. Download the story as an EPUB.

EPUB is free for everyone and opens in KOReader. WP Downloader can also create a PDF, which requires a free Discord sign-in. It does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files.

For Whofic, WP Downloader downloads the whole story. It does not download individual chapters or story lists. If the author adds chapters later, download the story again to create a new EPUB. WP Downloader cannot update the existing file.

Copy the EPUB to your device

Move the downloaded EPUB to the device where you use KOReader. The transfer method depends on the device.

Kobo or PocketBook

Connect the e-reader to your computer with USB and copy the EPUB to the device as usual. Safely disconnect the e-reader when the transfer finishes.

In KOReader, use the file browser to find the folder containing the EPUB, then select the file to open it.

Download the EPUB directly to your Android phone or tablet, or copy it from another device with your usual Android file-transfer method.

Open KOReader’s file browser, find the folder where you saved the EPUB, and select the file. It may be in the downloads folder, depending on how you transferred it.

Kindle

KOReader runs only on Kindles that have been jailbroken. Installing it on a Kindle is a separate, unofficial process and is not covered here.
