How to send an AltHistory story to Kindle
To read an AltHistory story on Kindle, download it as an EPUB with WP Downloader and upload the file through Amazon’s Send to Kindle. Amazon converts the EPUB and adds the book to your Kindle library. You can then open it on a Kindle e-reader or in the Kindle app.
Step 1: Copy the AltHistory story link
Open the story on althistory.com and copy its URL from your browser. An AltHistory story link looks like this:

Copy the URL for the story thread, not an individual post. WP Downloader downloads complete AltHistory stories rather than single chapters or lists.
Step 2: Download the story with WP Downloader
Open the AltHistory downloader and paste the story link into the box. WP Downloader will detect the site and prepare the story for download. The tool is free, runs in your browser, and does not require an AltHistory account.
Select EPUB as the output format. EPUB downloads are free for everyone, and Amazon accepts EPUB files through Send to Kindle. You can also choose whether to include the story’s images.
WP Downloader can create a PDF after you sign in with a free Discord account. Send to Kindle accepts PDFs too, but this guide uses EPUB.

Step 3: Send the EPUB to Kindle
After saving the EPUB to your device, send it to Amazon in one of these ways:
- Upload it through Send to Kindle on the web.
- Add it through the Send to Kindle app.
- Email it to your Kindle’s Send-to-Kindle address.

Use Send to Kindle on the web
Open Amazon’s Send to Kindle page in your browser, select the EPUB you downloaded, and submit it to your Kindle library.
Use the Send to Kindle app
Open the Send to Kindle app, choose the downloaded EPUB, and send it to your Kindle library.
Amazon converts the EPUB into a book you can read on Kindle. You do not need to convert it to MOBI or AZW3 yourself.
Send the EPUB by email
Attach the EPUB to an email and send it to your Kindle’s Send-to-Kindle address.
You must send the email from an approved address. Amazon will not accept the file if the sender address is not approved for your Kindle account.
Step 4: Open the story on your Kindle
Once Amazon has converted the EPUB, the story will appear in your Kindle library. Open it on a Kindle e-reader or in the Kindle app.
The book will contain the threadmarked chapters that WP Downloader found in the AltHistory thread. If the author posts more chapters later, download the story again and send the new EPUB to Kindle. WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you already downloaded.
You can then read the story from your Kindle library without returning to the forum thread. Other options include reading AltHistory stories offline and reading AltHistory stories on Kobo.
