How to Track Chireads Stories on Goodreads and The StoryGraph

You can track a Chireads story on Goodreads if it is missing from the site, look for it on The StoryGraph, or keep your own reading list in calibre. Start by saving the story with WP Downloader.

Download the Chireads story

WP Downloader is a free web tool, with nothing to install. Chireads stories are in French, and their links usually look like this:

To save a story:

1. Open the Chireads downloader.
2. Paste the Chireads story link into the box.
3. Choose whether to include the story’s images.
4. Download the complete story as an EPUB.

EPUB is free for everyone. You can also download a PDF after signing in with Discord for free. WP Downloader does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files.

If the author adds new chapters, download the story again. WP Downloader cannot update an EPUB you have already saved.

Put the story on your reading device or app

Adding a story to Goodreads or finding it on The StoryGraph does not transfer the EPUB to your device. You need to move the downloaded file separately.

For an e-reader, follow the guide for your device:

You can also add the EPUB to calibre on Windows, macOS, or Linux. calibre is a free e-book manager that can store the file, open it in its e-book viewer, and send it to an e-reader connected by USB. The viewer also has a Read aloud feature.

Track the story on Goodreads

Search Goodreads for the story first. Most fanfiction and web serials are not in its database, so you may not find it.

If the story is missing, you can add it with an eligible Goodreads account:

1. Sign in to a Goodreads account with a verified email.
2. Visit goodreads.com/book/new.
3. Enter at least the story’s title and author.
4. Save the new book entry.
5. Add it to your chosen shelf.

Brand-new Goodreads accounts cannot add books immediately. Check for an existing entry before creating one because Goodreads librarians handle later edits and merge duplicates.

Use the title and author shown on the Chireads page so you can recognize the story in your reading history.

Check The StoryGraph

Search The StoryGraph for the title and author. The story may already be listed, although its database does not contain every work.

If you cannot find it, check The StoryGraph’s current help pages. The service does not publish clear official instructions for adding works that are not books.

You can keep the EPUB in calibre as a personal record whether or not you also use The StoryGraph.

Keep a personal Chireads library in calibre

calibre gives you another way to track stories that are missing from Goodreads and The StoryGraph. It also works if you prefer a private reading list.

To add a story:

1. Select Add books and choose the downloaded EPUB.
2. Edit the metadata to match the title and author on the Chireads page.
3. Add or change the cover if needed.
4. Read the story in calibre’s e-book viewer or send it to an e-reader connected by USB.

calibre can convert EPUB files to formats such as AZW3, MOBI, or PDF. WP Downloader itself does not produce AZW3 or MOBI files.

When the story gains new chapters, download it again with WP Downloader and add the new file to calibre. A new download will not update your Goodreads or The StoryGraph record automatically.
