Track Fiction.live Stories on Goodreads, StoryGraph, or calibre
You can track a Fiction.live story on Goodreads or The StoryGraph while keeping the downloaded EPUB for offline reading. If neither service lists the story, calibre gives you another way to organize it.
Download a Fiction.live story with WP Downloader
WP Downloader is a free web tool with nothing to install. It supports links from fiction.live and beta.fiction.live, and you do not need to sign in.
A Fiction.live story link looks like this:
https://fiction.live/stories/Example-Story-Title/17CharacterIDhere/home To download a story:
- Open the Fiction.live downloader.
- Paste the story’s Fiction.live URL into the box.
- Choose whether to include the story’s images.
- Download the story as an EPUB.
EPUB downloads are free for everyone. PDF is also available after you sign in with a free Discord account.
WP Downloader downloads the complete story. It cannot download a single chapter or a list of stories. It also cannot update an existing EPUB, so you will need to download the story again when the author publishes new chapters. The Fiction.live download guide covers the download process in more detail.
You can open the EPUB in an EPUB reading app or move it to a dedicated e-reader. See the guides for sending Fiction.live stories to Kindle and reading Fiction.live stories on Kobo.
Track the story on Goodreads
Search Goodreads for the story’s title and author. Most fanfiction and web serials are missing from its database, but checking first helps you avoid creating a duplicate.
If the story already has a Goodreads page, use that entry to track your reading. If it is missing, you may be able to add it at goodreads.com/book/new. Your Goodreads account must have a verified email and cannot be brand new. The title and author are the minimum required details.
Check the original Fiction.live page before submitting the entry. Goodreads librarians handle later edits and merge duplicate records.
Once the entry exists, you can use its Goodreads page to track the story. The downloaded EPUB remains separate and opens in your reading app or e-reader.
Track the story on The StoryGraph
Search The StoryGraph for the title and author. Use the existing entry if you find one.
The story may not be in The StoryGraph’s database. The service does not publish clear official instructions for adding works that are not books, so check its current help pages if the story is missing.
The StoryGraph entry tracks your reading, while the EPUB is the file you read offline.
Keep a personal library in calibre
If Goodreads and The StoryGraph do not list the story, you can organize the EPUB in calibre. calibre is a free e-book manager for Windows, macOS, and Linux that lets you maintain your own library.
After downloading the Fiction.live story:
- Open calibre on your computer.
- Select Add books and choose the EPUB.
- Edit the book’s metadata or cover if needed.
- Read it in calibre’s e-book viewer or send it to a connected e-reader over USB.
The e-book viewer includes a Read aloud feature. calibre can also convert the EPUB to formats such as AZW3, MOBI, or PDF. WP Downloader does not produce MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files.
When an ongoing story gains new chapters, download a fresh EPUB and manage the new file in your calibre library.
