Track StoryRoom Reading on Goodreads or The StoryGraph
Search for the StoryRoom story on Goodreads or The StoryGraph first. Many web stories are missing from book databases, so keep the story’s title and author handy. If neither service lists it, you can add it to Goodreads yourself or manage the downloaded EPUB in calibre.
Download the StoryRoom story
WP Downloader is a free web tool that downloads a whole StoryRoom story as an EPUB. You do not need to install anything.
- Open the StoryRoom Downloader.
- Copy the story URL from storyroom.com or finestories.com. A StoryRoom URL looks like this:

- Sign in with an account for that site when prompted.
- Choose whether to include the story’s images.
- Download the EPUB.
EPUB downloads are free for everyone. PDF downloads require a free Discord sign-in.
WP Downloader can only download content that your StoryRoom account is allowed to read. It does not bypass locked content, paywalls, or age restrictions. Your account credentials are used only to fetch the story you requested.

Find the story on Goodreads
Search Goodreads using the title and author from the StoryRoom page or downloaded EPUB. Try the full title first, then search for the author if you do not see a clear match. Check both details carefully, since another work may have a similar title.
Most fanfiction and web serials are missing from the Goodreads database. You can add a missing story by hand if your Goodreads account has a verified email and is not brand new.
Add a missing story to Goodreads
Go to goodreads.com/book/new and enter the story’s title and author. These are the minimum details Goodreads requires.
Search carefully before adding the story so you do not create a duplicate. Goodreads librarians handle edits and merge duplicate listings.
Check The StoryGraph
Search The StoryGraph for the same title and author. If the story has a listing, use that entry to track your reading.
The story may be missing from The StoryGraph as well. The service does not publish clear official instructions for adding works that are not books. Check its current help pages if you cannot find the story instead of following the Goodreads process there.
Keep a private reading list in calibre
You can also keep the StoryRoom EPUB in calibre. calibre is a free e-book manager for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
After installing calibre:
- Select “Add books” and choose the EPUB from WP Downloader.
- Check the title and author in the book’s metadata.
- Edit the metadata or cover if needed.
- Open the EPUB in calibre’s e-book viewer.
- Use the viewer’s “Read aloud” feature to listen.
- Connect an e-reader by USB to send the book to the device.
calibre can convert an EPUB to formats such as AZW3, MOBI, or PDF. WP Downloader does not create AZW3, MOBI, or TXT files.

Keep your copy current
WP Downloader cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you have already downloaded. When the StoryRoom story is updated, download the whole story again to get the new chapters.
Tracking the story on Goodreads or The StoryGraph does not update the EPUB. Downloading a new copy also does not change your reading status on either service.
