Track the story on Goodreads

Most fanfiction and web serials are missing from the Goodreads database. Search for the story’s title and author first, and check the details before choosing an existing result.

If the story is not listed, Goodreads allows eligible accounts to add a book at goodreads.com/book/new. The account must have a verified email and cannot be brand new. You need at least the title and author.

The StoryGraph does not publish clear official instructions for adding works that are not books. If the story is absent, check The StoryGraph’s current help pages. Goodreads and The StoryGraph use separate databases and may handle forum stories differently.

Keep your own list with calibre

calibre is a free e-book manager for Windows, macOS, and Linux. You can add the downloaded EPUB to its library even when Goodreads and The StoryGraph do not list the story.

After downloading the story:

1. Open calibre on your computer.
2. Select Add books and choose the EPUB from WP Downloader.
3. Edit the metadata or cover if you want.
4. Read the story in calibre’s e-book viewer or send it to a connected e-reader over USB.

The calibre viewer has a Read aloud feature. calibre can also convert e-books between formats, including EPUB to AZW3, MOBI, or PDF. WP Downloader produces EPUB and PDF files, but it does not produce MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files.

Keeping the EPUBs in calibre gives you one library for the forum stories you follow, including works that are absent from public book databases.
