How to track Whofic stories on Goodreads or The StoryGraph
You can track stories from A Teaspoon And An Open Mind by downloading them with WP Downloader, then recording your reading on Goodreads or checking for them in The StoryGraph. Many fanfiction stories are missing from book databases, so you may need to add the story to Goodreads yourself or keep a personal reading list in calibre.
Download the Whofic story first
WP Downloader is a free web tool with nothing to install. It downloads complete stories from A Teaspoon And An Open Mind, also known as Whofic.
A Whofic story link looks like this:

- Copy the story’s main Whofic URL from your browser.
- Paste the URL into the downloader.
- Choose EPUB, which is free for everyone. You can also choose PDF after signing in with Discord for free.
- Choose whether to include the story’s images.
- Download the file to your device.

If the author adds more chapters, download the story again to get the latest version. WP Downloader cannot update an EPUB you already saved.

Track a Whofic story on Goodreads
Most fanfiction and web serials are not in the Goodreads database. Search for the title and author before adding a new entry so you do not create a duplicate.
If the story already has a Goodreads page, use that page to record your reading. If it is missing, eligible Goodreads members can add it at goodreads.com/book/new.
Your Goodreads account must have a verified email and cannot be brand new. At minimum, you need to enter:
- The story title
- The author’s name
Use the title and author from the Whofic story page. Add other details only when you can confirm them from the story. Goodreads librarians handle later edits and merge duplicate records.
Downloading an EPUB does not add the story to Goodreads. WP Downloader creates the reading file, while Goodreads stores your reading record.
Check The StoryGraph
A Whofic story may also be missing from The StoryGraph. Search for its exact title and author first.
The StoryGraph does not publish clear official instructions for adding works that are not books. If you cannot find the story, check The StoryGraph’s current help pages for its guidance.
An EPUB from WP Downloader is not automatically imported as a tracked title. You still need a separate database entry to record your reading.
Keep a personal reading list in calibre
Calibre is a free e-book manager for Windows, macOS and Linux. It gives you a library you can manage yourself, even when a story is absent from Goodreads or The StoryGraph.
After downloading the Whofic EPUB:
- Open calibre on your computer.
- Select Add books.
- Choose the EPUB you downloaded.
- Edit its metadata or cover if needed.
- Read it in calibre’s e-book viewer or send it to a connected e-reader over USB.
The calibre viewer has a Read aloud feature. Calibre can also convert an EPUB to AZW3, MOBI or PDF. WP Downloader itself does not create AZW3, MOBI or TXT files.
You can organize your files and metadata in calibre while using Goodreads or The StoryGraph for stories that appear in their databases.
