Read JoyRead Stories in KOReader
Download the JoyRead story as an EPUB with WP Downloader, copy the file to your Kobo, PocketBook, Android device, or jailbroken Kindle, then open it from KOReader’s file browser.
What you need
KOReader is a free, open-source document reader for Kobo, PocketBook, and Android devices. It also runs on Kindles that have been jailbroken and can open EPUB and PDF files.
WP Downloader is a free web tool, so you do not need to install anything to download the story. You need:
- A JoyRead story link
- Access to the chapters you want to include
- A device with KOReader
- A way to copy the file to that device
A JoyRead story address looks like this:

Step 1: Download the JoyRead story
Open the JoyRead downloader and paste the story link into the box. WP Downloader will detect the site.
Choose EPUB as the output format. EPUB downloads are free for everyone, and KOReader can open the format directly. You can also include the story’s images.
KOReader supports PDF as well, but downloading a PDF from WP Downloader requires a free Discord sign-in.
You do not need to sign in for publicly available stories. If you sign in with your JoyRead account, WP Downloader can fetch members-only content that the account is allowed to read. It uses your credentials only to fetch the story you requested.
Paid or locked chapters are included only when your account can already read them. WP Downloader does not bypass paywalls, locked chapters, or age restrictions.

Step 2: Copy the EPUB to your device
After the download finishes, copy the EPUB to the device where you use KOReader.
Kobo or PocketBook
Connect the device to your computer with USB and copy the EPUB to it as usual. Open KOReader and find the file in its file browser.
Android
Use your usual Android file-transfer method to copy the EPUB to the device. In KOReader, browse to the folder where you saved it and select the file.
Jailbroken Kindle
KOReader runs only on Kindles that have been jailbroken. Copy the EPUB to the Kindle, open KOReader, and select the file in its file browser.

Step 3: Open the story in KOReader
Open KOReader, use its file browser to find the EPUB, and select the file.
The EPUB is a separate offline copy. WP Downloader will not add new chapters to an existing file. If JoyRead adds chapters later, return to the JoyRead downloader, paste the link again, and download a new copy with the chapters available to you at that time.
